A wrist band is typically described as a bracelet made out of paper, plastic, vinyl, Tyvek, leather or rubber that is worn around the wrist and is designed to provide information about the wearer. Wristbands first found usage in hospitals where patients were tagged with them for easy identification purposes but nowadays hospitals are not the only arenas that use wristbands. Wristbands can also be used for a variety of other reasons.

Tips while choosing a supplier for ID wristband

Admissions – Events that need to screen people who have been invited to the gathering are issued an ID wristband prior to the actual day and this helps to identify people who have a valid invitation to the event. This prevents uninvited people to gate crash the event, eventually leading to the utmost safety at the event. In case the event is spread over a few days, then different colored wristbands can be used, each color signifying a particular day of the event.

Age Identification- Places where alcoholic drinks are served can use the services of
ID wristband to identify people of the legal drinking age and help them to segregate from people who are not legally allowed to purchase alcoholic beverages. Without the wristbands, either underage people would not be allowed to attend or no alcoholic beverages could be sold.

Height Restrictions- Amusement parks offer certain rides that impose height restrictions on the user out of safety concerns, as the ride may not be conducive to people who are overtly tall wherein the seat belts and other restraints will not work properly for people under a specific height.

Medical Uses- The wristband has been in use in hospitals since a long period of time and is the perfect example for identifying patients. They are especially useful in emergency situations where a critical patient is provided with a different colored wristband so that he can be treated at the earliest.

A newly introduced wristband is called a Tyvek Wristband. They are made of a high-density polyethylene fiber or synthetic material that is very strong, stretch resistant, waterproof and very difficult to tear. Most Tyvek wristband manufacturers incorporate a special tamper-proof die cut at the end of the band that makes it very difficult to tamper with lowering the chances of guests switching wristbands with others. They fit around the wrist and are permanently locked in place with a very aggressive adhesive so they cannot be slipped on or off the wrist.
